How to Recover Deleted Data on Your Android Smartphone

How to Recover Deleted Data on Your Android Smartphone

It’s always a good idea to have a backup plan, in case something happens to your important data. Similarly, it’s important to have an emergency plan for when your smartphone is lost or stolen. Whether you’re backing up your photos, contacts, or app data, or ensuring you can get into your phone if it’s ever confiscated by a thief, you need to know how to do Android phone data recovery.

Recovering deleted data on your Android smartphone is fairly simple, but it requires that you take a few steps. Follow these steps, and you should be able to retrieve your deleted data.

Back up Your Data

This is the first step to recovering deleted data on your Android smartphone. Before you do anything else, back-up all of your important data on a computer or in some other place that’s accessible. This way, if something happens to your Android smartphone, you’ll have a copy of all your information and won’t have to worry about losing it.

Erase your Device with a Factory Reset

When you’re able to get your phone back, even if it’s been wiped and the thief has installed a new OS (operating system), you can still recover deleted data with the following steps:

  1. Erase your device with a factory reset.
  2. Sign into your Google account using Google Play.
  3. Install any missing apps that were originally on your phone.
  4. Back up your photos, contacts, and other app data to your Google Drive account.
  5. Restore your data from Google Drive when necessary (in case something happens to your phone).

Install a Data Recovery App

To recover deleted data, you need to install a data recovery app. There are many free apps available for this purpose.

Set up your Device for Data Recovery

If you ever delete a file that’s important to you, there are ways to recover it. In Android devices, this is done through the use of an app called “My Backup Pro”. This app can be downloaded for free from Google Play. Once you have the My Backup Pro app on your device, follow these steps in order to successfully recover deleted data:

-Go to Settings>Apps and tap “My Backup Pro”

-Tap “Config” > “Backup Data” > “Full Backups”

-Choose which data you want to backup (contacts, browser history, images, etc.)

-Tap “Start”

-Follow the onscreen instructions

Perform a Hard Reset

If you already performed a hard reset on your Android phone and need to recover deleted data, there are a few things you can try. First, plug your phone into the charger then leave it alone for 20-30 minutes. This will allow any residual power to drain from the battery in order to allow the recovery of deleted data. Once this is done, hold the volume up button, then press the power button to turn on your phone. You may need to enter your passcode or pattern depending on how many security measures you have set up for your phone.

Next, go to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset Phone > Erase Everything. Finally, go through the initial setup process and set up your phone as if it’s brand new.

Perform a Factory Reset

If you have an Android phone, you should know how to perform a factory reset. A factory reset is when your Android phone is restored to its original state every time it boots up. This means that all data and settings are deleted.

The first step in recovering deleted data on your Android smartphone is performing a factory reset. All deleted data will be deleted; however, there may still be some room for additional files on the device.
